Fully machined from stainless steel and through hardened. Free-spinning collar that turns if attacked by gripping tools without loosening the lock. To install, replace one of the nuts holding the outboard motor on the transom of the boat with a McGard lock. Then tighten the lock with the special key tool provided. The easy to use key tool comes in many different patterns for maximum security. Model 74036: Single Outboard Motor lock 1/2"x20 threads, designed for Mercury/Mariner Outboards - 40 HP and larger. Model 74037: Single Outboard Motor lock 1/2"x1.25 threads, designed for Yamaha Outboard - 50 HP and larger. Model 74038: Single Outboard Motor lock 1/2"x13 threads, designed for Johnson/Evinrude - 40 HP and larger. Model 74049: Single Outboard Motor lock, 5/16"x18 threads, designed for most of the following outboards: Johnson/Evinrude 6HP-30; Mercury/Mariner 8 HP-25 HP; Yamaha 9.9 HP-40 HP; Suzuki 8 HP-30 HP.
