Any time you need a sliding sinker rig, egg sinkers are the way to go. Slide the egg sinker up your line and tie on a swivel and a leader and you have a sliding sinker rig. You could also clamp on a small Bull Shot or split shot and eliminate the need for an extra knot with the swivel. However you choose to create the sliding sinker rig, you have a technique that allows a fish to pick up the bait and move off with it and never feel the resistance of the weight, since the line will simply slide through the egg sinker instead of drag it along. These sinkers have many applications in every kind of fishing there is.
